Everything in this about me section is here to make sure you feel confident about my ability to assist you in learning the skills and techniques for YOUR recovery journey.
Professional: Providing therapy, Training, and Planning Conference Presentations:
I have over 15 years of experience with Exposure Respond Prevention (ERP) in the treatment of OCD and anxiety, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), in addition to Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).
I have worked with the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) as co-chair the OCD/SUD Special Interest Group and served on their Conference Planning Committee for 4 years.
I have provided trainings on ERP, ACT, and enhanced training on OCD and anxiety disorders to mental health professionals across the U.S.
I completed both of my master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Health at Boston University. My clinical training included experience with community care and the Boston Veteran’s Administration (VA) with an emphasis of behavioral interventions.
Personal: Yes, I have my own recovery journey:
I've personally navigated the challenges of anxiety disorders, sparking my passion and interest to become a therapist specializing in OCD and anxiety. I understand the journey, the challenges, and I'm here to guide you through evidence based treatments so you will have the skills for YOUR recovery journey. As a licensed clinical social worker I provide therapy, not peer support, though I am open about having traveled my own recovery journey, and I do speak about it in various areas within the OCD community.
